Charles Schwab Challenge: Best PGA TOUR golf bets, predictions and odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

The PGA TOUR returns to Texas this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge. The Colonial Country Club will host and measure a 7,289-yard par 70, with bentgrass greens.

Even though last week was major, we still have world number 1 Scottie Scheffler in the field this week, alongside Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Max Homa and Jordan Spieth.

Below I’ve outlined my two favorite bets of the week.

Before last week’s missed cut at the PGA Championship, Straka was rolling. The big Austrian finished T8 at Wells Fargo and T5 at RBC Heritage, which followed two T16 finishes at PLAYERS and Masters.

Precision will be paramount this week with Colonial’s tight fairways, and Straka is one of the most precise drivers on the PGA TOUR, ranking behind Collin Morikawa and Shane Lowry in driving accuracy percentage.

Since THE PLAYERS, Straka ranks fifth in this area in SG: Ball-Striking and seventh in Total Strokes Gained. And even though he fell short on the weekend at Valhalla, Straka shined with his irons, gaining 4.2 strokes on approach in his two rounds.

Straka missed the cut at Colonial in his first two starts, but figured some things out last year en route to a T29 finish. I fully expect him to build on that this week with the way he’s been playing lately. Having already earned two career victories on the PGA TOUR, you know that if Straka enters contention, he can close the door.

This is a very attractive game at 40/1.

As mentioned above, the name of the game this week at Colonial is precision and short irons, both of which are Rai’s specialty. The Englishman ranks No.1 in this area in terms of driving accuracy over his last 24 laps, while being fifth in SG: Tee-to-Green, SG: Ball-Striking and Total Strokes Gained.

Rai has yet to win on the PGA TOUR, but he has two DP World Tour victories in his career. He’s also been trending in the right direction of late, posting two top-seven finishes in his last five starts.

When Rai struggles, it’s usually because of his putter. However, he has always been better on Bentgrass, which is what Colonial features. This will be Rai’s third career start at Charles Schwab, with last year resulting in a T12 – his best finish to date.

I believe Rai will win on the PGA TOUR one day, because he is just too talented attacking the ball. He’s very reminiscent of Emiliano Grillo, who happens to be last year’s winner.
