16-year-old JEE aspirant found dead in Rajasthan’s Kota: Police

According to police, the student hailed from Bihar and had been staying in a rented house in Kota’s Talavandi area with his mother for the past year.

A 16-year-old student preparing for the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses was reportedly found dead in Rajasthan’s Kota on Sunday evening, officials familiar with the matter said.

“It is yet to be determined whether this was a suicide or a natural death. At first glance, he went to his room after eating dinner last night. However, he started vomiting some time later following which his mother rushed him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead,” Kota Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yogesh Sharma said.

According to police, the student hailed from Bihar and had been staying in a rented house in Kota’s Talavandi area with his mother for the past year.

“The reason for death can be confirmed only after the autopsy,” Sharma said.

The DSP added that no suicide note was recovered from the student’s belongings.

“No behavioral changes have been reported by anyone in recent days. His family was also informedand the body was sent for autopsy,” said another police officer.
