McDonald’s Worker Caught Drying Mop On French Fries

It’s always a disappointment when a restaurant is not up to appropriate standards. Unfortunately, at a McDonald’s restaurant in Australia, viewers of a new viral video are left completely distraught. It seems that one of the McDonald’s employees decided to use the restaurant’s fry warmer to dry the store’s mop.

As noted by the NY Post, a customer named Debbie Barakat was at the McDonald’s restaurant in Booval, a suburb of Brisbane, Australia, on April 4 when she saw the incident. The employee can be seen holding the mop right next to the heat lamp and the machine’s fries.

She shared the following statement on Yahoo! News Australia on the McDonald’s mop:

“I was just waiting for my order when I looked over and heard a member of staff say: “I don’t think you should do that because it could pose a safety issue because it could catch fire,” he said. -he declares. » shared Barakat.

According to Barakat, restaurant employees were working around the dryer and continued to collect fries. She continued:

“I was totally shocked by what I witnessed and she just laughed about it.”

The drying mop had just been used to clean the floor. While Bakarat contacted the store manager via email to complain about the incident, she only received the following response:

“Please be assured that we are taking corrective action so that a similar action does not occur again.”

Additionally, this is an isolated incident, with a McDonald’s Australia spokesperson sharing this statement:

“McDonald’s takes food safety extremely seriously and follows strict cleaning, disinfection and hygiene procedures in all restaurants,” the company said.

They continued to explain their reaction to the incident:

“We resolved this issue directly with the restaurant and conducted extensive training for all employees on McDonald’s disinfection, hygiene and food safety procedures.”
