Wild Roots festival canceled a week before 2024 edition

“To say we are heartbroken is an understatement,” festival organizers wrote.

Sligo-based music festival Wild Roots announced yesterday that it had to cancel this year’s event, just a week before it was due to start.

Organizers announced yesterday on Instagram that the festival would not take place this summer due to “circumstances beyond their control.”

The line-up included a number of great Irish bands, such as Damien Dempsey, Aslan, Block Rockin’ Beats, The Academic and Hermitage Green.

“It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of Wild Roots 2024,” organizers wrote.

“Please know that we have done everything in our power to achieve this, but unfortunately it is not possible now. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. We have worked extremely hard over the past 5 years despite COVID, the cost of living crisis, and many other obstacles. We have created a unique independent family festival in the North West of Ireland.

They then thanked their team for their hard work and expressed their “deepest gratitude” to their participants, saying: “Your enthusiasm, support and love for the festival means the world to us and we hope that the memories created during of this period the last 4 years will remain engraved forever. “

The refund process will begin on June 22.
