Ohm Coffee Roasters to Open in Sonoma on October 24

Ohm Coffee Roasters is set to open its second brick-and-mortar location in the former Monday Bakery space in Sonoma before the end of the month, just weeks after the Napa location’s doors open.

Ohm Coffee founder Derek Bromley hopes to open next week, with an estimated October 29th.

Bromley was looking for retail space to expand his business. When Monday Bakery closed its Sonoma and Napa locations, as well as a production facility on Jefferson Street, on Aug. 25, Bromley jumped at the opportunity.

Ohm Coffee Roasters is known in Napa for serving coffee by the truckload for nearly a decade and then expanding to Jefferson Street, where Bromley opened a roastery in 2023.

Bromley expanded the business from an espresso truck at the Napa Farmers Market to the Jefferson Street facility, where he hosted wine tasting-inspired coffee experiences, and now with two new locations to serve his exceptional coffee.

“We’re moving at a breakneck pace — Napa opened less than six weeks after Monday Bakery closed its doors — and customer response has been overwhelmingly positive so far,” Bromley said in an email to the Index-Tribune.

Ohm is no ordinary coffee shop; Bromley’s mixes are named after guitar amps and styles, a combination of the founder’s passions. The businessman is also a musician and his brand was inspired by the unique desire to connect sound and flavor through coffee.

The Sonoma Roastery will open its doors at 117 East Napa Street. The Napa location is located at 1412 Second Street. Both locations will be open from 7am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm on weekends to start, but hours are subject to change.

“We will be expanding hours rapidly as we go along once we get more staff,” Bromley said. “We know coffee is a 7-day-a-week job.”
