Passengers aboard a Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas to Los Angeles were shocked to discover that an unaccompanied and unwanted traveler was sitting right above their heads.

An eagle-eyed customer noticed a pair of small claws and a tail on the Airbus A320 aircraft’s roof lighting panel, which houses essential electrical wiring.

It was a case of blink and you’d miss it as the rodent appeared to quickly flee within seconds of being noticed by the passenger sitting in the rear of the aircraft on the three-hour flight to the west coast.

Footage of the shocking incident showing the silhouette moving inside was captured on cellphone video and posted to social media, where it has received more than 2 million views, along with some amusing comments.

“I see that Ratotuille has changed his career,” joked another.

“Rats on planes are extremely dangerous because they chew through wires. If you see this, notify the crew immediately,” wrote another concerned viewer.

“Someone would have to tell me what’s up there, let’s not keep flying while something is crawling on top of my head,” read one comment on Instagram.

It is not known on which specific flight the chilling scene was seen.

The airline responded to the disturbing images in a statement: “We are aware of the video and are taking steps to resolve this matter,” Spirit Airlines said.
