Did Shah Rukh Khan offer Gautam Gambhir a ‘blank cheque’ to stay at Kolkata Knight Riders for the next 10 years?

New Delhi, May 27: Gautam Gambhir’s name is in the news to become the next coach of the Indian cricket team, succeeding Rahul Dravid.

Amid the alleged discussions, a report claimed that Gambhir, who is mentoring Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024, was offered a ‘blank cheque’ by franchise co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, to stay with them for the next 10 years.

Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL final, winning the title clash by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.

It is evident that Shah Rukh Khan would intend to keep the former Indian opener in the franchise for a long time.

Moreover, after the final match on Sunday, Gambhir could be seen engaged in an intense discussion with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.

A report in Dainik Jagran claims that Gambhir is also interested in the India head coach position. But he wants a guarantee that he will be 100% selected if he completes the application for the position. If the BCCI considers Gambhir only as one of the ‘candidates’, he will not apply. Shah Rukh Khan, after the victory, hid his emotions behind a mask.
