Silent Hill Transmission game event this week

Silent Hill Transmission game event this week

Konami’s Transmission streaming event will provide updates on the handful of upcoming Silent Hill projects.

“Consider this your invitation letter to Silent Hill,” reads Konami’s announcement post for the Silent Hill Transmission event on X. The stream of the show will be available on the Silent Hill YouTube channel . This is the second Silent Hill Transmission show. the first time was in October 2022.

There are so many Silent Hill projects in the works that Konami doesn’t need to reveal more in this second show. Silent Hill 2 is being remade and there are two unreleased games: Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill f. There has been very little news on either title since 2023. Given the numerous layoffs, project cancellations, and studio closures seen in recent months, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that these projects continue.

Konami’s Transmission announcement offers no indication of how many games will be offered. “We’ll share game updates, a deeper look at the movie, and new merchandise,” he wrote.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is the most advanced upcoming title. It received a “combat reveal” trailer on January 31, 2024. This has led some commentators to suggest that the remake may have lost the feel of the original, which was propelled by atmosphere and story, rather than combat mechanics.

We already knew that the game would be released this year but no specific date has yet been given. This is one of the key information expected from Silent Hill Transmission 2024.

The next Silent Hill movie is called Return to Silent Hill and is written and directed by Christopher Gans. He directed the film Silent Hill in 2006 as well as a French live adaptation in 2014 of Beauty and the Beast with Vincent Cassel and Léa Seydoux. It was released a few years before Disney’s own live-action adaptation.

Since the last Silent Hill Transmission stream in 2022, Konami has released the free short game Silent Hill: The Short Message and Silent Hill: Ascension, an “interactive horror television” app for iPhone and Android phones. Neither project met with a particularly positive critical response.
