Whitefish girls place second and boys third at state track meet


Carson Krack was more than busy at the Class A state track and field championships; he was dominant. Whitefish finished third as a team behind Corvallis and Columbia Falls.

The Whitefish girls, supported by strong relays and running from Brooke Zetooney, placed second as a team.

Krack won the 300 meter hurdles (38.95) and 110 meter hurdles (14.81) while placing second in the long jump (22-8) and third in the 400 meter dash (49.78). He also placed fourth in the triple jump (44-1.25).

In the 800-meter race, Whitefish’s Simon Douglas was third (1:55.89) and eighth in the 1,600-meter race (4:30.96).

Also in the 110-meter hurdles, Carson Gulick finished fifth (15.67).

In the relays, Whitefish finished second in the 4×400-meter relay (3:26.03) and fifth in the 4×100-meter relay.

For the girls, Brooke Zetooney won the 200 meters (24.41) and was second in the 400 meters (57.14).

Whitefish won the 4×100 meter relay (47.90) and the 4×400 meter relay (3:58.47), which helped the Lady Bulldogs finish second as a team at the state meet.

Rachael Wilmot had a big day, placing second in the 100 meters (12.34), third in the 200 meters (25.03) and third in the 400 meters (57.83). Hailey Ells finished seventh in the 400 meters (59.32), third in the 100 meters hurdles (15.98), second in the 300 meters hurdles (45.42) and sixth in the high jump (4-10).

Maeve Ingelfinger finished seventh in the 1,600 meters (5:25.28). Bailey Smith was fifth in the javelin (122-07), eighth in the long jump (15-11.50) and fifth in the triple jump (34-7.25).
