Chilton County Commission Approves Ambulance Committee

CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Chilton County Commission is taking steps to address the county’s ambulance transportation problem by developing a committee.

After meeting with the president of the Alabama Ambulance Association, several emergency response entities were recommended to be part of the new committee.

County Commission Chairman Randall Kelley said the committee will develop a plan or proposal for what the county needs when it comes to emergency transportation services.

The committee will include experienced individuals with experience in emergency medical services.

Recommended organizations serving on this committee include the Chilton County Fire Association, the Chilton County Commission, the hospital authority board, the Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Services System, and the Alabama Ambulance Association.

As well as the Chilton County 911 and EMA director.

“They will not vote or comment on what is happening, all they will do is make a recommendation from the information they have gathered about what the county needs and it will go from there,” Chairman Kelley said.

The committee is expected to meet next week.
