Liverpool star ‘offered m pay rise’ to complete 2025 free transfer exit

Trent Alexander-Arnold faces a crucial decision over his future at Liverpool before the end of 2024.

The England international’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the 2024/25 season and he can open free transfer negotiations with non-Premier League clubs from the start of 2025.

Extension negotiations are ongoing between the 26-year-old and the club’s hierarchy, along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool hope to reach a resolution with all three before January, with the potential for at least one exit.

Real Madrid are after Alexander-Arnold but will not make any push for him in January despite Dani Carvajal’s season-ending injury.

Los Blancos are following a similar path to signing Kylian Mbappe in 2024, as they waited for his contract with Paris Saint-Germain to expire before completing the deal.

The situation will enter a crucial phase in the coming weeks, with Alexander-Arnold considering Liverpool’s contract offer and Real Madrid rumours.

Trent Alexander-Arnold contract and salary with Liverpool

According to reports from sports salary experts Capology and Liverpool.com, Alexander-Arnold currently earns £180,000 ($233,000) per week at Anfield, which equates to around £9.3 million ($12 million) annually.

The Premier League giants are prepared to offer a raise as part of a proposed five-year contract, but Real Madrid’s offer is higher.

According to a report from Caught Offside, the Spanish superpower will also offer him five years, but at an annual salary of 15 million pounds ($19.3 million), which makes a total of 75 million pounds ($97 million) until 2030.

The Liverpool-born defender now faces two clear choices: remain on Merseyside or make a bold move to Madrid.
