Construction continues at Webster Bill Gray’s future Tap Room and Grill

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Residents of the town of Webster are excited as Bill Gray on the town’s Hard Road continues his plans to move into a location just down the road.

This after the closure of the Hegedorn grocery store on the same street last summer.

Jonathan Gonzalez, president of Bill Gray’s and former general manager of Hegedorn’s, says crews have made a lot of progress in their construction plans.

Thanks to a milder winter, things were able to speed up.

“You can see there’s quite a bit going on, the building is very different. It will be new and beautiful when all is said and done,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said details of the building’s planned development include Webster Wine and Spirits moving to the south side of the property, and then Bill Gray’s Tap Room will occupy most of the space.

“There will certainly be other tenants. But this is not yet solidified. We are still working on it. But we have plenty of space in this building. And we hope to add more tenants.

With the property having been in use since the 1950s, Gonzalez said there was a lot of work to be done. Despite minor hiccups along the way, the tap room timeline indicates it will be completed in early 2025.

Gonzalez adds that it’s been a long time coming for the space and is excited to see the work continue.

I mean, it’s in a great location in Webster that it clearly needed a major upgrade and a lot of work,” Gonzalez said. “I think the people of Webster will be really pleased when this is all said and done. I think it’s going to be beautiful and there should be a lot of attractive businesses, you know, here that people will want to come to.

And developers say the first tenant ready to move in will be Webster Wine and Spirits late this summer.
