“You are perfect. No matter how long it may take, you will find your people,” her message read. “They will help you find yourself more and more. It’s worth it. You are worth it. “

Bush shared his message with a We The Urban article, which said: “Pride matters because someone tonight still believes it’s better to die than to be themselves.” »

The black-owned brand promotes inclusivity and marginalized voices.

In April 2024, Bush came out as gay in an essay she wrote for Glamor magazine.

“I kind of hate the idea of having to to go out in 2024,” she wrote at the time. “But I am acutely aware that we are having this conversation during a year where we are seeing the most aggressive attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community in modern history.”

The 41-year-old actor went on to share her feeling of “safety, respect and love” within the queer community before adding that she feels like she’s always been aware that her “sexuality exists on a spectrum.

“Right now, I think the word that best defines it is weird, ” she added. In fact, I can’t say it without smiling. And it’s pretty awesome.

Bush is now dating Ashlyn Harris, a 38-year-old former member of the United States women’s national soccer team. In her essay for Glamor, Bush explained how the support of the women around her helped her maintain a relationship with the goalie.

“It really took other people in our safe support bubble to point out to me how we would finish each other’s sentences or be deeply affected by the same things,” Bush wrote. “When you’re in the middle of so many difficulties – and you have the added weight of having to go through them on a public stage – it can be difficult to see anything other than what’s right in front of you.”

The couple has been photographed side-by-side at various events, including Elton John’s Oscar party in March and the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in April.
