Mandeville traffic stop leads to discovery of “nearly 350 counterfeit oxycodone pills”

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Slidell man has been indicted on five drug-related charges after a St. Tammany Parish deputy allegedly found “nearly 350 counterfeit oxycodone pills” in his possession .

During a routine traffic stop around 11 a.m. on May 28, Nathaniel Louis Arrington, 49, was stopped by a deputy on Highway 1088 near the intersection of Oak Street in Mandeville.


According to the deputy, Arrington was in possession of counterfeit oxycodone pills, “suspected of containing fentanyl.” The deputy also said Arrington allegedly possessed “a quarter-pound bag of marijuana, a digital scale, plastic bags for repackaging drugs and $2,038.”

In addition to the counterfeit pills, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division also seized the vehicle Arrington was driving and $2,038 in cash.

According to officers, Arrington was on probation until 2027 for prior possession of fentanyl.
