In a shocking incident, a man shot and killed four members of his own family, including his wife, two sons and a daughter. According to police, Rajendra Gupta shot dead his wife Neetu (45), sons Navnendra (25) and Subendra (15) and daughter Gaurangi (16) in Bhaidaini area of ​​Bhelupur police station, Varanasi, late on Monday night.

According to police, Gupta fled from the scene after committing the crime. The tenants of Gupta’s house informed the police about the incident on Tuesday afternoon, after which the officers went to the spot and investigated the matter.

While police investigated the incident, Rajendra Gupta’s body was later found. It is suspected that the man murdered his children and wife and then committed suicide. He is said to have shot himself dead in the Rohaniya area where his construction site took place.

Tenants have no idea about dismissal

According to the information received, an astrologer told Rajendra Gupta that his wife was creating obstacles in his work. Therefore, Rajendra discussed a second marriage with his wife.

Rajendra Gupta’s mother was present at the spot at the time of the incident. Rajendra Gupta has 15 to 20 tenants trapped in his house, but none of them had any idea when the shot was fired. Local residents later informed the police about the incident.

Accused murdered father, brother and his wife

Rajendra is facing a murder case since 1997 and was out on bail. He murdered his younger brother and his wife in the same house 22 years ago and served a prison sentence for it.

A few days later, his father Laxmi Narayan Gupta and two security guards who lived with him some distance from the house were also killed. However, it was not known who had done this. In this case, the suspicion was only on Rajendra. The investigation into this entire case is currently ongoing.

What did the police say?

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kashi Zone) Gaurav Bandsawal said the Bhelupur police station received information that a woman and her three children had been killed, following which police reached the spot and questioned Rajendra’s mother. According to Bandsawal, Rajendra’s mother said that there were daily fights between Rajendra and his wife due to family discord. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that prima facie it appears that Rajendra had killed all four and also committed suicide after the incident. He said the incident took place late on Monday night and pistol grenades were recovered from the spot. Bandsawal said police are also investigating other aspects of the incident.
