Hyderabad: A couple’s argument almost cost them their four-year-old son on Monday evening. The child was abducted from Osmania General Hospital (OGH) by a vagabond and was fortunately reunited with the parents within 12 hours by the police who tracked down the kidnapper by searching over 100 CCTV cameras spread over 20 km from the hospital to Dabeerpura railway station.
The suspect, Shaik Rafeeq, a daily wager, was caught by Afzal Gunj police carrying the boy, Mohd Shoheb, as he was about to board the train.
Police said Monday morning that Shoheb’s parents Mohd Saddam and Rubeena argued over his drinking problems. Saddam, a carpenter, had even attempted suicide a few months ago. The family lives in Mallepally.
