Meet your first responders next week

(KNSI) – An event on Thursday, June 13 at the Benton County Fairgrounds will allow you to meet the men and women who keep the area safe.

First responders from all sides will be on hand from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with informational displays and a chance for one-on-one interaction between attendees and presenters. The event is free and open to the public.

No live demonstration is planned, but it will have a “touch-a-truck” aspect. You can learn about law enforcement vehicles, whether historic or modern patrol cars. You will also have the opportunity to get up close with fire trucks and a Life Link helicopter.

The Minnesota State Patrol and Stearns County Sheriff’s Office recently announced their presence. If you like what you see at the appreciation event, donations will be accepted for the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation.

The organization announced it will open a second location in St. Cloud inside an east side church, about a mile from the Sauk Rapids Fairgrounds, where the appreciation event is planned.
