Courtney, France is vying to represent CT’s 2nd District

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) – The race to represent Connecticut’s Second District involved two primary candidates.

Incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney is running against Republican challenger Mike France.

Green Party candidate Kevin Blacker was also on the ballot.

Courtney and France was discussed on October 10.

The district is quite large. It covers almost the entire eastern part of the state.

The last Republican to hold the seat was Rep. Rob Simmons, who lost in 2007.

Courtney said his priorities included fighting inflation.

France said the fight against inflation was also among its priorities, arguing that this required different policies.
