Four decades after the classic concert album and live film, the set will be reissued this summer in 2LP and 2CD/Blu-ray.

Following the deluxe edition of the soundtrack which sold out of print when it was released last year, the album will return as a 2LP black vinyl at Rhino.com and at retail and as a crystal clear 2LP vinyl at Barnes and Noble on July 26 . Both variants come with a 12-page booklet with notes from all four band members, as well as photos of the band. Visit here to pre-order.

Meanwhile, the 2CD/Blu-ray version comes with the full 28-page booklet from last year’s edition, as well as a Dolby Atmos mix of the full concert mixed by Jerry Harrison and ET Thorngren, who also mixed the original version.

The new wave pioneers first released the film, directed by Jonathan Demme, in 1984 and it was filmed over four nights at the Hollywood Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, California in December 1983. It includes performances by some of their most famous songs, including “Psycho Killer” and “Burn Down the House”.

Last week, the group appeared together for a screening and Q&A session at the Pantages. Actor Andy Richter hosted the event, while there was a performance by Blondshell. There will also be another screening at the King’s Theater in New York on June 13, with a Q&A session hosted by Questlove and a performance by The Linda Lindas.

The announcement comes just weeks after the band’s drummer, Chris Frantz, teased the band’s return to the theater on Instagram. Frantz posted an image of a black and white theater marquee with the main banner saying “TALKING HEADS.”

Also last month (May 17), the tribute album “Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute To Stop Making Sense” was released. The song-for-song tribute album featured covers of Miley Cyrus, Paramore, Lorde, The National and Girl In Red.

The re-released sets will be available starting July 26, but you can pre-order them now.
