Mixed early numbers in Georgia

More non-credible bomb threats have been sent to polling places in the Atlanta area as a dozen counties remain open late due to threat-related evacuations earlier in the day, according to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

“I know in Atlanta they just received a whole bunch of bomb threats,” Raffensperger said at a news conference Tuesday evening. “All police stations remain open and they’re just sending dogs around to sweep the place to make sure they’re safe.”

“The best we can say is that these probably come from the same source,” he added, referring to his earlier claim that Russia was behind the threats.

Raffensperger said 12 counties in the state are staying open late because of threats to polling places: six in Dekalb, five in Fulton and one in Gwinnett.

Three additional locations will be open late due to “normal causes,” he said, while a total of 15 counties statewide will remain open late.
