Marquette Announces Funeral Arrangements for Michael Lovell

Marquette University has announced the funeral of its president, Michael Lovell, who died June 9 after a nearly three-year battle with cancer.

A public viewing and mass will be held June 20 at Gesu Church, 1145 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mass will begin at 1 p.m. with celebration by Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki. The Rev. Bryan F. Summers will deliver the homily.

Due to limited capacity at the church, mourners may also gather at the Al McGuire Center, 770 N. 12th St., where the mass will be livestreamed. The Catholic sacrament of communion will be offered to those present at the arena.
