REVEALED: DiJonai Carrington showed up at the Indiana Fever game just hours after calling out Caitlin Clark for her silence in the ‘culture war’

Connecticut Sun star DiJonai Carrington showed up to the Indiana Fever’s game against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night, hours after criticizing Caitlin Clark for her silence in a “culture war.”

Clark has been at the forefront of the rise in popularity of women’s basketball, taking her star power from the college ranks to the WNBA in April as the league’s No. 1 pick in its annual draft.

With this attention, some have used his name as a weapon to spread racism and misogyny, something Clark directly pushed back on Thursday.

Carrington had taken issue with Clark’s lack of brash declaration to disassociate himself from these things. Then she showed up at Clark’s game hours after posting a tweet calling him out.

‘My friend. How can you not be bothered by their name being used to justify racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia and their intersectionalities all is crazy. We all see shit. We all have a platform. We all have a voice and they all carry weight. Silence is a luxury,” Carrington tweeted.

Clark’s rebuttal regarding people using his name as a weapon also happened hours before the Fever-Dream reveal.

“It’s disappointing,” Clark said. “Everyone in our world deserves the same respect. The women in our league deserve the same respect.

“People should not use my name for these diaries. It’s disappointing. This is not acceptable,” Clark continued.

“This league is the league that I grew up admiring and wanted to be a part of. Some of the women in this league were my biggest idols and role models growing up and helped me want to achieve this moment here where I can play every night,” Clark added.

Carrington was pictured with her arm around Fever star and ex-girlfriend NaLyssa Smith.

The couple began dating while they were both at Baylor and recently broke up and unfollowed each other on Instagram.

After an altercation during a Fever-Sun match between Carrington and Erica Wheeler, where Smith defended his ex-girlfriend and opponent, the duo appears to be back on better terms.
