West Orange football star wide receiver Larry Miles announces transfer to Jones High

After a superb sophomore campaign at West Orange High in 2023, three-star wide receiver Larry Miles announced via his X account that he will be transferring to Jones High in the fall.

“I just wanted to thank Coach Geno Thompson for giving me incredible opportunities and helping me become who I am today,” Miles said in his social media post. “But for better opportunities for me and my family, for the next two years of high school, I will be transferring to the great Jones High School.”

With offers coming from Miami, UCF, Iowa, Michigan St. and Arkansas, to name a few, Miles quickly established himself as a certified prospect.

As a receiver, he caught 40 passes for 531 receiving yards with three touchdowns, and as a returner he added another 494 yards with five more touchdowns.

Miles will join a stacked Tigers team that finished 10-4 last season and lost in the Class 3M state semifinals. Jones is set to return a pair of four-star offensive weapons in quarterback Dereon Coleman to get the ball to Miles and receiver Vernell Brown III to keep defenses honest against the incoming transfer.
