Eight trains to Agartala and Barak Valley canceled due to rain

Guwahati: Eight trains of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) connecting Tripura and Assam’s Barak Valley were canceled for two days due to heavy rains, an NFR spokesperson said on Saturday.

Long-distance trains will continue to adhere to speed regulations, he said.

“Following heavy rains and an alert issued by the weather department for the next two days in the Lumding-Badarpur hills section, these eight trains are cancelled, while another one is rescheduled,” the spokesperson said .

Guwahati-Silchar Express, Guwahati-Dullabcherra Express, Rangiya-Silchar Express and Silchar-New Tinsukia Express and the corresponding return trains were canceled on Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, the Agartala-Deoghar Express has been rescheduled. It will leave Agartala at 11:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. on Saturday, the official said.

He said other long-distance passenger trains operating in the hills section will continue to adhere to speed regulations.
