Myanmar shooting on St. Martin island: government remains silent, says Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Firing has taken place on St. Maarten Island from Myanmar, but the government remains silent. A Burmese warship was also seen in Saint-Martin. This is a serious threat to the sovereignty of Bangladesh. “The government is a weak government, it does not have the mandate of the people, it is a submissive government. This government depends on foreign power and therefore does not have the courage to speak out.”

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was speaking to reporters around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at his home in Kalibari, Thakurgaon. In response to a question, Mirza Fakhrul said: “It is up to the government to decide whether or not it will deploy the army in Saint-Martin. But where they haven’t even issued a single statement, how can they be expected to deploy the army? “
