Woman called 911 to say she killed her mother the day before: police

A woman in Maryland has been arrested after she allegedly called 911 and led police to her mother’s body.

Emergency services in Gaithersburg, Maryland, received a call from Tiffany Zhang on Monday, November 4, when she reportedly confessed to killing her mother. Montgomery County Police Department said in a press release.

Zhang, 29, allegedly said she had killed 63-year-old Guichun Hu the day before and that the woman’s body was in a nearby lawn outside their home, the news release said.

Responding authorities found Zhang outside the home and recovered Hu’s body. They pronounced her dead at the scene.

Aerial photos of the home shared by WJLA shows that the area has several houses sparsely located, each with lawns surrounding it. Further details – such as the condition of Hu’s body, the nature of any injuries or where the alleged crime took place – have not been revealed.

Gu’s body was transported to the medical examiner’s office so authorities could determine her cause of death.
