Control rooms set up for Eid emergencies

PESHAWAR:

The health department has established a formal control room within the health directorate to handle any untoward situation and ensure delivery of health services during Eidul Azha holidays.

Control rooms will also be set up at the district level. Instructions were given to divide all medical personnel into three shifts in these control rooms, and orders were issued to prominently display the duty roster of personnel in all hospitals.

Orders have been issued to autonomous hospitals, as well as those under the health department, to make arrangements at emergency wards. According to the announcement, during Eid, all hospitals, especially those in tourist areas, will have some medical staff working in three shifts instead of taking vacations during the three days of Eid.

These staff members will be given vacation after Eid.

Hospital medical directors and district health officials have been tasked with maintaining a stock of essential life-saving medicines and keeping machines operational in case of emergency. Emergency control rooms will be set up at the district level where apart from ordinary patients, patients with symptoms of Congo virus etc. will also be reported to the health department upon arrival at the hospitals.

In this regard, government hospitals will remain connected to their respective district emergency control rooms, while all district-level centers will be directly linked to the health department’s emergency control room.

The names and mobile numbers of those who will be on duty in hospitals during Eid should be displayed on hospital notice boards, and this duty list should also be shared with the Health Directorate.
