What you need to know about Tony Evans’ shocking announcement

Renowned pastor and author Tony Evans shocked the Christian world when he recently announced that he would be stepping down from his pastoral duties to undertake a process of restoration due to an undisclosed “sin.”

Evans, who is pastor of the 11,000-member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas, has had an enormous influence throughout modern Christianity. Christian Post senior reporter Leonardo Blair joins “The Inside Story” to discuss what we know, why it matters and what comes next.

“Although Evans, who pastored the church for 48 years, did not provide specific details as to why he stepped down, he admitted in a written statement that although he did not “he had committed no crime, he had failed to meet the biblical standards adopted by his church ministry, suggesting it was ‘because of sin,'” Blair wrote in a recent article.
