2 men arrested after fleeing traffic stop, including in central New York farm field, deputies say

Madison, N.Y. — Two men were arrested last week in eastern Madison County after fleeing a traffic stop, including in a farm field, deputies said.

Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the men, who were riding an ATV and dirt bike eastbound on U.S. Route 20 in the town of Madison, around 8 p.m., the Gate said County spokesperson Samantha Field said in a news release Monday. The two vehicles fled, she said.

Deputies pursued the driver of the ATV — Austin T. Jones, 26, of Morrisville — into a farm field, Field said.

One man, Michael Frazier, 30, of Madison, approached deputies and began physically interfering with Jones’ arrest, Field said. He was also arrested, she said.

Jones faces several charges, including DWI and operating an unregistered ATV. Frazier was charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
