Supporters already lined up for former President Trump’s campaign stop in Racine

Former President Donald Trump will make a campaign stop in Racine Tuesday afternoon.

This will be his first visit to Wisconsin since he called Milwaukee a “horrible city.” His campaign team said Trump was referring to crime and what he calls voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Despite this comment, turnout for Trump’s visit to Racine remains strong. TMJ4’s Sydni Eure spoke with voters starting at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Many arrived early with lawn chairs, coolers and snacks, ready to camp out until the gates opened. Supporters said they have struggled over the past four years with Biden in office, so the opportunity to hear how Trump plans to make improvements was worth the wait.

The former president will visit Racine Festival Hall to speak about plans to “relieve financial pressures on households and restore law and order.” Trump is expected to share his thoughts on how “Bidenomics” has created suffering for Wisconsin families.

According to a press release issued by Trump, “prices have soared nearly 20% since Biden took office.” Trump goes on to claim that Biden’s policies have “increased crime” across the state, which again explains why his campaign said he made the “horrible city” comment in the first place.

Despite this comment, Trump supporters in Racine did not hesitate. Many say they want to be part of history and look forward to hearing what they say is the truth from Donald Trump.

“Well, I think for me it’s our country,” Helen Starrett said. “Our nation is at a crucial and historic moment. Something like this has never happened before, and I just want to be a part of history.”
