Bette Midler suggested she would drink Drano if Donald Trump won the election

Bette Midler took to social media to suggest she would drink chemical drain cleaner like former President Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election.

The actress and singer, 78, went to X (formerly known as Twitter)to upload a photo on Monday of a bottle of Champagne and a bottle of Drano sitting next to each other in a refrigerator door.

The bubble had a yellow note on it that said “Kamala wins,” while the toxic liquid had a note on it that said “Trump wins.”

Midler – a staunch Democrat – had campaigned for current Vice President Kamala Harris, 60, and urged her followers to vote.

But after Republican Trump, 78, was elected 47th President of the United States early Wednesday, Midler deactivated her account.

According to the American Mirrorthe post received more than 57,000 likes and nearly 7,000 reposts before disappearing.

The outlet further claimed that the ‘Beaches’ star also joked about the fact that Trump appeared to simulate oral sex during a recent rally.

“I saw Trump simulating a blowjob on his microphone yesterday! UGH! Looks like someone is getting ready to try to win the popular vote…in jail!’ Midler reportedly wrote about the businessman turned reality star turned politician is also a convicted felon.

In a victory speech at his Mar-a-Lago celebration, Trump thanked “the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected.”

The comments reportedly prompted Midler to share a quote from HL Mencken on her X account that read: “When a candidate for public office faces the voters, he does not face sensible men; he is confronted with a band of men whose chief distinguishing feature is their complete inability to weigh ideas, or to understand even the most basic ones – men whose entire thinking is in terms of emotion, and whose dominant emotion is the fear is for fear. what they cannot understand.”

The quote continued: “So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or get lost… All odds are against the man who is, intrinsically, the most cunning and mediocre – the man who can most adeptly spread the idea that his mind is a virtual vacuum.

“The presidency tends to go to such men year after year. As democracy is perfected, office comes more and more closely to represent the inner soul of the people,” the quote concludes.

“We strive for a lofty ideal. One great and glorious day, the ordinary people of the country will finally get their heart’s desire, and the White House will be decorated by a complete idiot.

Representatives for Midler did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
