The Challenge: All Stars 4 officially crowned a winner, but many fans felt the finale wasn’t fair to all the contestants involved.

The finale aired in episode 12, with eight cast members remaining to compete for the $250,000 prize.

Among them were several former MTV Challenge winners: Cara Maria Sorbello, Laurel Stucky and Veronica Portillo.

Also competing were Steve Meinke, Ace Amerson and Derek Chavez, who had never won a final on MTV’s The Challenge.

In the end, there was a winner and second and third places, but fans criticized the show for the way production set up the finale.

Who won the final of The Challenge: All Stars 4?

The spin-off version of The Challenge brought another unique finale for contestants to compete in, with checkpoints that tested them mentally and physically. Throughout the event, competitors who arrived last at checkpoints were eliminated.

A twist also came with these eliminations. Since everyone had earned stars to compete in the final, eliminated contestants had to give their stars to another player still in the game.

This twist came into play, giving whoever owned the Stars additional advantages later in the finale. Derek was eliminated first and handed his star to Laurel. Leroy was next and gave his star to Steve.

However, Laurel received an added advantage when Nicole and Veronica were eliminated in the same round and awarded her their stars.

According to the rules, Laurel ended up with four stars, while Steve had two. Cara and Ace only had one star each going into the finale.

During the latter part of the finale, viewers had to race down a dirt trail using foot-propelled scooters. Next, they had to complete various checkpoints, which included puzzles and skill-based tasks.

Competitors could use one star to automatically pass a checkpoint, so Laurel’s four allowed her multiple passes when it mattered most.

In the end, Steve was right behind Laurel in second place. However, he missed a checkpoint and attempted to advance with his Star option. A producer told him he could only use one star per checkpoint and sent him back to start the game again.

Meanwhile, Laurel finished or Star passed her checkpoints and took off running. The former MTV winner reached the finish line first, with Cara Maria in second place. Steve ultimately crossed the finish line in third position.

At the finish line, Laurel said the “real personal relationships” she developed during this spinoff season helped her win. She congratulated the finalists and promised to return to compete for a third victory on The Challenge.

Viewers blasted ‘unfair’ final and All Stars 4 winner as ‘not a legitimate winner’

Many fans of the series took to Instagram comments on @thechallenge’s recent carousel post, which read: “One hell of a finale” in the caption.

“A hell of a joke. The finale was a scam and we all know @misscaramaria was the real winner,” one commenter wrote.

Another explained that “Laurel couldn’t win without the help of one person, but without the help of everyone.” »

Another posted that “Cara deserved the win” and that she is “the people’s champion!” »

“Laurel wasn’t a legitimate winner,” one commenter wrote, suggesting she “got a win” and that the top two should have been Steve and Cara Maria.

During All Stars 4, viewers saw Steve earn three eliminations to stay in the match, including wins over Challenge winner Brad Fiorenza and Jay Mitchell. Cara Maria won the elimination rounds against former show winner Rachel Robinson and multiple-time finalist Kam Williams.

Laurel did not participate in any eliminations throughout the season. She almost decided to confront Cara Maria but chose to stay out of the battle between her and Kam.

Several episodes later, host TJ Lavin presented the remaining contestants who did not have stars with a final daily challenge, where the two winners earned stars. Derek and Laurel earned their stars, becoming the last two contestants to advance to the finals.

The All Stars 4 results come months after MTV crowned a new champion in Season 39, aka Battle For a New Champion. Viewers also criticized this season because many finalists were never eliminated. This included the winner, Emanuel Neagu, while the runner-up, Nurys Mateo, participated in several eliminations.
