‘So happy for you’ – Real Madrid star sends message to Barcelona’s Ilkay Gündoğan

Barcelona star Ilkay Gündoğan received a congratulatory message from one of Real Madrid’s main defenders on Wednesday.

All this comes fresh off the former’s latest star performance on the international stage.

Germany marked their return to action not long ago, taking on Hungary in the second match of the country’s group stage at Euro 2024.

In the end, Julian Nagelsmann’s troops came out on the right side of a 2-0 result, to book their place in the round of 16 of the competition.

And the aforementioned Ilkay Gündoğan proved to be the star of the show.

After scoring Jamal Musiala’s first goal in the first half, the Barcelona star then turned goalscorer himself, dashing any remaining hopes of Hungary’s comeback.

Gündoğan, in turn, has since received praise from fans, players and pundits across the continent.

And, as mentioned above, those people were joined by one of Real Madrid’s hottest stars on Wednesday night to reveal their delight for the veteran midfielder.

On his official Instagram account, Antonio Rüdiger, who also played a role in Germany’s last victory, revealed a photo of himself and Gündoğan accompanied by the caption:
