Free adoptions for cats are available at the Pender Co Animal Shelter.

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Those looking for a four-legged friend can adopt a cat for free from the Pender County Animal Shelter, according to a Facebook announcement.

According to the shelter, they no longer have a cage and are trying to find permanent homes for their cats, who are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, treated for parasites, combo tested and microchipped.

“THEY’RE NO COST TO ADOPT!” A few were pets, many were yard cats, never mind that they needed to go outside TODAY! Please help me ! FCFS! 910-259-1484 option 7,” the shelter says.
