Opposition leaders slam NTA over UGC-NET cancellation | News from India

NEW DELHI: Opposition leaders on Thursday launched an attack on the National Testing Agency (NTA) after the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam and accused the agency along with the Union government of destroying the future of the students who sat for these exams.

The UGC canceled the UGC-NET exam on Wednesday, a day after it was held, after receiving certain inputs from the National Cybercrime Threat Analysis Unit of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C) under the ministry of the Interior on the examination.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav hit out at the Center saying the paper mafia was “rigging exams” during the BJP regime. The former UP chief minister said that if the police recruitment exam was leaked, it would impact law and order, while if there was fraud in the NEET exam, honest people would not become doctors. Similarly, the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam will have consequences on the education system. “Under the BJP regime, the paper mafia is rigging all the exams, one after the other. This could also be a big conspiracy of someone against the country,” Yadav accused on X.

Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale said, “The structure of our country’s review process has collapsed. Paper leaks and irregularities are commonplace and the useless NTA is complicit,” in his post on X.

“After the NEET fiasco, the UGC-NET has now been canceled – literally a day after the students took the exam. The lives and future of our students are being destroyed every day and the NDA 1.0 government will not has no shame in taking responsibility for it,” he said. ” said, adding that “the incompetent Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was reiterated despite total failure. Same is the case with Ashwini Vaishnaw as railway minister and now we have witnessed a train accident just a few days ago. They must be sacked.

The Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) slammed the Center for canceling the UGC-NET exam, saying it exposed another “failure” of the BJP-led government in managing the country’s education system, in Mumbai. A few days ago, the NEET exam issue highlighted the “bad practices” and “favoritism” prevalent in the education system, NCP (SP) national spokesperson Clyde Crasto said in a communicated. “The central government, by not fulfilling its duty diligently towards the students of our country, is disrespecting their hard work and also playing with their lives,” he said.

RJD MP Manoj Jha demanded that the NEET exam should also be cancelled. “You had to take down NET and you have to take down NEET now because there is a lot of evidence that this exam has been compromised. And it’s time to recognize that NTA is a fraud,” he said.

The CPM’s post on X accused the government of making a mockery of the education system. “First there were discrepancies in CUET, then NEET scam, and now UGC-NET has been cancelled! The BJP government has made a complete mockery of the education system,” the CPM said. Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas said, “When NEET collapses in NET… see how saffronization (is) done; NET qstns (questions) for a drama student – Ayodhya pranprathishta date, how Hanuman is described, the sloka of the Ramayan, decapitated but kept alive in the Mahabharata, representative of Hindi… How do we intend to shape our next generation?
