Bishkek authorities consider cable car project along Manas Avenue

AKIPRESS.COM – Bishkek City Hall plans to build a cable car along Manas Avenue from Jibek Jolu Avenue to the Southern Highway, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev said on June 21 during a parliamentary session .

The cable car will stretch 6 km, with an estimated passenger flow of 50,000 to 100,000 passengers per day, he said.

A contract has been signed with a Swiss company, a leader in the construction of cable cars.

“A plan for the implementation of the cable car system in Bishkek has been approved. Sponsors have been found and $300,000 has been allocated. The Ropeway project team has started preparing a feasibility study,” added Junushaliev.
