Justin Timberlake Breaks Silence After Arrest, Says ‘It’s Been A Rough Week’

Justin Timberlake has broken his silence following his arrest earlier this week while performing in Chicago as part of his Forget Tomorrow tour.

The popstar returned to the stage Friday for her first performance since her arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, for drunk driving.

Addressing the crowd on stage at the United Center in Chicago, Justin told his fans: “We’ve been through ups and downs, left and right, and, uh, it’s been a tough week.

“Nothing can change that,” he added, without specifying what he was referring to. “I know I’m hard to love sometimes but you continue to love me and I love you back. Thank you very much.”

Justin also reportedly apologized to the team backstage.

The SexyBack singer will return to New York later this month to perform two nights at Madison Square Garden. He is due back in court on July 26.

Justin was arrested for drunk driving in the Hamptons on Tuesday night. A statement released by the Sag Harbor Police Department said he was stopped in his BMW for running a stop sign and swerving, The Mirror reports.

Officers at the scene said he was “driving his vehicle while intoxicated.” After his arrest, he was detained overnight before being “released on his own recognizance.”

Sources at the American Hotel and Restaurant in Sag Harbor say Justin was drinking with his friends, but reports claim he said he only drank one martini. When he was arrested, the officer reportedly noticed that his “eyes were bloodshot and glassy” and that there was “a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.”

According to reports, the police officer who arrested the Cry Me a River hit singer was so young that he didn’t recognize who the global star was.

During their meeting, he muttered “this will ruin the tour,” a source told the New York Post.

The police officer reportedly replied: “What tour? » as Justin said to him: “The world tour”, in reference to his current concerts.
