$3.4 million worth of meth found in Los Angeles traffic stop

A traffic stop in Los Angeles led to a police chase and officers discovered more than $3 million in drugs and cash.

California Highway Patrol K9 officers stopped a white Ford F-150 on Interstate 5 around 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, the CHP said on Facebook. The driver fled, prompting police to pursue the vehicle.

Once they caught up to the vehicle, the driver was arrested and officers found 190 pounds of suspected methamphetamine worth $3.4 million and $5,000 in cash.

K9 Axel, a 5-year-old Czech shepherd, helped find the drugs, the CHP said.

An investigation into an ongoing drug case

Authorities have not released the suspect’s name due to the ongoing investigation.
