Brazen thief filmed stealing gazebo in front garden

Stunned Stuart Whibley couldn’t believe what he was watching as CCTV footage showed a man entering his garden and grabbing his gazebo in Gillingham, Kent.

A stunned resident watched as a brazen thief stole a garden gazebo before fleeing.

CCTV footage shows a man walking down the street in Gillingham, Kent. The man can be seen entering the front garden and lifting the chained awning – leaving one leg behind. Stuart Whibley, 50, noticed on Thursday that his house was missing. When he checked the CCTV at her home, he was shocked to discover why she had disappeared.




Stuart, from Gillingham, Kent, said: “It’s an absolute nightmare. My wife and I were both inside the house on Wednesday when it happened but neither of us heard anything .I just don’t understand why someone wouldn’t even knock on the door to ask if it was junk or something.

“They didn’t even notice one of the legs was chained, so they left without one of the legs. It can’t even really be used like that” Stuart and his wife Sherry use the gazebo to host events seasonal charities to raise funds. money for mental health charity Mind UK and Cancer Research.

They have hosted events for the past five years, but securing the 4×4 pavilion last year meant they could go the extra mile. They used the gazebo for two events – Halloween and Christmas – with the first raising £220 for Mind UK.

Stuart said: “It won’t be the same now that we don’t have a gazebo to hang decorations on the sidewalk.
“For Halloween last year, we had a walkway that turned into a maze through the gazebo. My wife and I have both struggled with mental health issues, which is why it means so much to us. help the charity like this.

“Without the gazebo, the events would have to be much smaller.” Stuart reported the incident to the police.
