Neymar has praised Estevao Willian as the teenage sensation continues to impress.

The winger has had a forgettable week after sealing a move to Chelsea last week, with reports suggesting the club could pay as much as £51million. Announcing the deal, the club wrote: “The 17-year-old has already built a strong reputation in South America as one of the world’s most exciting talents thanks to his skillful dribbling and electric pace, causing many problems at defenses during his breakout season in senior football.”

Willian will reunite with his new teammates next summer after turning 18. In the meantime, he will continue to play for Palmeiras and gain more experience in senior football.

As he continues to make an impression following his big-money move to Europe, the teenager scored Palmeiras’ second goal in their 3-1 win over Juventude on Sunday. After firing into the back of the net, he pulled out Cole Palmer’s signature “cold” celebration.

His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed by Neymar, who has made it clear that he is excited to see Willian’s career progress to bigger things. Speaking at an event at the Hollywood Paladium, the Brazilian star was asked which next-gen talent excites him the most.

“Estevao de Palmeiras,” Neymar replied. “He is a great talent who has emerged in Brazilian football. I believe he will become a genius.”
