CLIFFDALE – Another horrific crash on a KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) route, showing a collision between three trucks, was caught on camera.

The @TrafficSA X-page posted chilling rearview camera footage of a speeding 18-wheeler that became wedged between a stationary and moving truck.

The video The caption suggests the serious multi-vehicle crash occurred on the KZN N3 West route near Cliffdale, outdoors Durban West.

The time stamp of the images shows that the accident took place on Sunday, November 2, 2024 at approximately 5:52 am.

It is striking that it is still clear outside, which is impossible weather conditions possible cause of the accident. Another striking detail is the high speed at which the colliding truck travels.

The 27-second clip starts with a calm view of the road. On the left, several cones can be seen on the hard shoulder, indicating that road works are taking place.

As the truck approaches and passes a stationary road construction vehicle, a man in safety gear can be seen outside on the hard shoulder.

A split second later, chaos erupts as the heavy vehicle swinging across the road collides with the back of and between the moving and stationary trucks.

The impact sends an explosion of debris and a pall of dark smoke into the sky before it clears, revealing the extent of the wreckage.

At the same time, the man standing outside, who was blissfully unaware of the impending danger until the moment of impact, could be seen on the other side of the barricade, apparently on the ground.

Several colleagues surround him, including others climbing out of the emergency vehicle.

Meanwhile, the initially moving truck stopped while the third was out of sight. The chilling clip was viewed almost 460,000 times in the 60 hours since it was posted.

The video, posted to the @VehicleTrackerz X page, appeared three days after another clip showed the group filming themselves getting ready to travel.
