Madonna poses with her father Silvio in honor of his 93rd birthday

Madonna toasts her father Silvio Ciccone — the “OG Daddy” — in honor of his 93rd birthday!

The pop icon, 65, shared a wholesome post on Instagram on Sunday, June 2, featuring several photos of her and her dad over the years.

“Congratulations on riding the roller coaster of life with humor and common sense intact,” Madonna wrote in her caption. “Thank you for sharing your life mantra with me, which is: ‘I’m going to keep going until the wheels fall off.'”

“Nothing can stop us! I love you to the moon and back. 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🤎🖤🩶🤍❤️‍🩹,” she added.

In the first two images from Madonna’s Carousel, Ciccone can be seen receiving a warm hug from her daughter backstage at one of her events.

Other photos in the slideshow include a photo of the father-daughter pair together on stage from earlier in their musical career, a throwback family portrait (also featuring Madonna’s late mother, Madonna Louise), and an old-school photo of Silvio himself.

“Sweet ❤️❤️❤️,” Rosie O’Donnell commented on the post.

One of the photos Madonna shared as part of the post was taken in 2021, when Madonna took five of her six children to visit her father at the Ciccone Vineyard & Winery in Michigan to celebrate his 90th birthday at the era.

“My father is a survivor who grew up as an Italian immigrant in the United States and experienced a lot of trauma but always worked hard for everything he had,” she wrote on Instagram at time of the visit. “He taught me the importance of working hard and succeeding in life…………. Once again, thank you. 🙏🏼.”

“It was so special spending your 90th birthday with you and my kids at your vineyard. 🍇🎂🍷🎉♥️ #happybirthday,” she added.

Last month, for Mother’s Day, the pop superstar honored her late mother with a vulnerable Instagram post. In her caption, she discussed her death in 1963, at the age of 30, after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I stood on stage for 81 shows, looking at my mother’s beautiful face and wondering what she must have been thinking as she waved goodbye to me from her hospital window. I got in the station wagon and closed the door without knowing it was the last time I saw her,” Madonna wrote, referring to the way she paid tribute to her mother on her latest tour.

“No one told me my mother was dying. I just saw her mysteriously disintegrate and then she disappeared and there was no explanation except that she had fallen asleep, which explains my tumultuous relationship with sleep,” Madonna added.

Madonna — herself mother to Lourdes, 27, Rocco, 23, David, 18, Mercy, 18, and twins Stella and Estere, 11 — added that there is “no easy path to enter the game of motherhood.

“No textbook or college,” she says. “Just trial and error, learning and succeeding, then failing again. Finally, the realization that they were raising me and not the other way around.”
