Key Sounders duo ‘effectively suspended’ after locker room row

Seattle stars Raúl Ruidíaz and Nouhou have been “effectively suspended” ahead of the Sounders’ MLS showdown with the Chicago Fire this weekend, according to reports from local media outlet Sounders at Heart.

It is reported that the duo argued in the locker room with head coach Brian Schmetzer after refusing to join his teammates in thanking fans following a dramatic 3-2 win over Dallas last weekend.

When asked directly about the situation, Schmetzer was reluctant to divulge details and described the situation as an “internal matter.”

Ruidíaz and Nouhou are key players on an already struggling Seattle team that currently sits in 10th place in the Western Conference after 20 games.
