Ferrari plans to launch its first electric vehicle next year and may offer an extended battery warranty to ease concerns among buyers who want to switch from gasoline to electronics. It could also be a new revenue stream for the company.

Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported Wednesday that Ferrari is preparing an extended warranty on batteries for its future electric and hybrid vehicles.

According to the report, the guarantee would be offered in the form of a annual subscription costing around 7,000 euros (around $7,500). It would cover all aspects of battery maintenance, as well as battery-related faults.
