Chelsea still happy with ‘excellent’ player despite offer to Premier League rival

Chelsea have reportedly offered one of their players to Newcastle United as part of their bid to sign Alexander Isak.

At the same time, it seems Chelsea are still happy with him.

The Blues appear to be interested in Alexander Isak as they are understood to have been in contact with Newcastle over a move for the 24-year-old.

Isak was in great form for Newcastle last season, scoring 20 goals in 30 Premier League appearances.

And it appears the Blues have offered the Magpies one of their stars in order to sign the Swedish international.

Chelsea offer striker to Newcastle

Chelsea are keen to sign a Newcastle striker and in return it appears they are willing to give them one of their own attacking players.

According to The Guardian, the club have offered Nicolas Jackson to their Premier League rivals as they attempt to sign Isak.

However, the same outlet claims that Chelsea remain happy with the 23-year-old.

Jackson scored 14 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, so it’s no surprise to hear that his employers are happy with him.

However, this did not stop them from offering an exit to the Senegalese international, it seems.

Why is Chelsea happy with Nico Jackson?

Looking above, Jackson’s numbers weren’t too bad, especially considering his age.

Sometimes his overall centre forward play is also quite good.

During a match last season, former Arsenal striker Alan Smith described his holding game as “excellent”.

It was his first campaign in England, so it’s no wonder Chelsea were happy with him.

But Jackson is clearly not indispensable. Next season he will have to improve his game and score more goals. Otherwise, the former Villarreal player could be replaced.

The fact that Chelsea are willing to include him in a swap deal tells you that, so there is no doubt that the 2024/25 season will be a big one for Nicolas Jackson.
