DENVER (KDVR) – Morning snow showers will make for a slippery start to Thursday, a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. A bit of sunshine arrives later in the Denver weather predicted because the maximum temperatures remain cold.

Another round of snow will move into the Front Range and Eastern Plains Thursday morning. With an additional 1 to 3 inches along the Palmer Divide and an additional inch in the metro, roads could be slick for morning commutes.

Highs on Thursday will reach the upper 30s, with perhaps some sunshine in Denver and the north by the afternoon.

Clouds will linger Thursday night with light snow across the southern Eastern Plains. Winds will be light in Denver while lows dip into the mid-20s, meaning the city will see icy roads again.

Outlook: More snow for a mild Sunday

Friday will start with cloudy skies and cold temperatures, while snow continues to fall in southern Colorado. Temperatures will reach the upper 30s before snow begins to fall for Denver in the early afternoon.

This storm could add 6 to 7 inches to the metro, up to and possibly more than a foot along the Palmer Divide and southern foothills, 4 to 8 inches in the northern foothills, and minimal snowfall north toward Fort Collins.

Snow will fall around noon on Saturday and there is a chance of some sun in the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 40s.

Sunday looks to be closer to seasonal averages, with temperatures in the low 50s and sunny skies.

Monday starts off the next week with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 50s. Tuesday will be very similar with mid 50s and a mix of sun and clouds.

Wednesday will add a few extra clouds to the forecast with highs in the low 50s.
