McDonald’s Adds Special Grade Anime-Inspired Garlic Sauce

McDonald’s will launch a special-grade garlic sauce inspired by the supernatural anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” on July 9.

It’s almost time to dive into a world of jujutsu sorcerers and sinister spirits with McDonald’s latest Japanese-inspired sauce.

The fast-food chain will launch its special-grade garlic sauce inspired by the supernatural anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” on July 9. It will be available for a limited time only through the McDonald’s app, the company said in a press release.

The new condiment is inspired by McDonald’s Japan’s black garlic sauce, offering a unique blend of garlic and soy sauce with a slight tangy sweetness.

The company will host a press tasting event in New York on July 8 ahead of its release, hosted by cooking show host Alvin Zhou.

What is “Jujutsu Kaisen”

“Jujutsu Kaisen” is an action anime based on the beloved Japanese manga series by Gege Akutami and Ballad Kitaguni.

The series, which premiered in 2020 and has two seasons, follows a high school student who must navigate a world of witchcraft and curses when he becomes the unwitting host of an evil spirit. The first 24 episodes are available on Netflix.

A new sauce follows the sweet and spicy jam and the Mambo sauce.

McDonald’s has never been afraid to try new sauces for its menu.

Last October, the company added two limited-edition sauces, including Sweet and Spicy Jam and Mambo Sauce

The “Sweet & Spicy Jam” was a red pepper sauce that combined Sichuan pepper, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper. The MamboSauce was a “sweet, spicy, vinegary tomato sauce” inspired by Washington, D.C.
