Chesapeake driver dead after car ‘left road and struck tree’: CPD

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Police responded around 11:28 a.m. Thursday morning to a report of a single-vehicle crash between the intersection of Bruce Road and Peppercorn Drive.

When officers arrived on scene, they determined that the driver, an adult male, “swerved off the road and struck a tree” and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the cause of the accident is unknown and there are no indications of foul play. The accident is still under investigation.
