One dead and one seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County

QUILIN, Mo. (KFVS) – One man is dead and one man is seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Butler County Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7. The crash site was on MO 53, one mile south of Qulin, Missouri.

The crash occurred when a 2006 Ford Escort struck a John Deere tractor from behind. The Ford then crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2021 Buick Encore.

The driver of the Buick, a 64-year-old Poplar Bluff man, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:13 a.m. by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers. The man was transported to Butler County Mortuary.

The driver of the Ford, a 69-year-old man from Malden, was also seriously injured in the accident. He was transported by paramedics to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the John Deere tractor was not injured.

According to the Highway Patrol, everyone was wearing safety equipment at the time of the crash.
