“The Preacher’s Daughter” (15-7 MMA) last fought and was defeated by Kayla Harrison (17-1 MMA) in a bantamweight bout at UFC 300 last April.

A former champion, Holm, 42, has three wins in her last six fights inside the Octagon.

UFC CEO Dana White commented on Holly’s performance at the post-fight press conference, saying:

“I would love to see Holly retire”

Holly Holm, speaking to “MMA Junkie,” shared her disappointment following her loss at the historic UFC 300:

“I’m upset. I’ve lost a lot of sleep over it because I know I’m capable of more than I’ve done. That’s just the way it is. You can’t go back and change things. You have to get over it, own up to it, keep working hard and move forward.”

Holm went on to say:

“I think what’s super frustrating is I had a great camp, I had no injuries. I was healthy, I had great training partners, great coaching, and I was the one that let everybody down. I was the one that didn’t show up and let everybody down, including myself, you know. So, yeah, it’s frustrating.”

As for what’s next, Holly Holm responded:

“I just train because that’s all I can do. You have to take it one day at a time, you know? In life and in sports, you can never hope for tomorrow. So I just train and I always choose to be positive and motivated in my life. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.”

In conclusion, Holm rejects retirement, stating:

“I’m ready to fight at any time. I’m definitely not ready to stop fighting. I know I’m still healthy and capable. I’m just angry that I didn’t perform.”

Apparently this fighter isn’t going anywhere, at least not by choice. Who would you like to see Holly Holm fight next?
